Consistency--via dazzling, complex club beats--has always been one of Fey's biggest strengths. Faltan Lunas stays true to Fey's trademark swirl of pop smarts, electro grooves and house-music tendencies. It's the Mexican singer's first album of original material since 2002's dazzlingly dark Vertigo and 2004's La Fuerza del Destino, a lush tribute to '80s pop group Mecano. Even throughout those musical detours, Fey often let her inner glitterball goddess shine. Faltan Lunas pairs the singer with producer Carlos Jean, who creates a world of luxurious beats and live instrumentation. The disc also recalls some of Fey's earlier hits. Upbeat tracks "Y Aqui Estoy," "Me Has Vuelto Loca" and "Solo Para Bailar" share time with moody midtempo numbers "Entre Dos," "Volar Otra Vez" and the gorgeous "Como Un Angel." More than a decade into her career, Fey still excels at making music that intrigues and inspires. --Joey Guerra
