Eddie McDermott is the owner of Fast Eddie’s Lucky 7 A-Go-Go, the most popular nightspot in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. For twenty years, Eddie has supplied the ex-pat community with cheap booze, easy women, and memorable nights. After a heart attack nearly kills him, Eddie decides it’s time to make some changes in life. And the first order of business is finding someone to run his bar.
Ray Malone is a middle-aged underdog who has yet to find success in business or love. While he’s never without a plan to see his name in lights or land the prettiest girl in town, he can rarely afford more than a weekend tryst with one of Eddie’s maidens. While most of the girls regard him as just another expat, a dancer named Pim decides he'd make a good catch – especially after her boss offers to sell his bar to him.
While Ray struggles to come up with the money, Pim carries out schemes of her own. Meanwhile, a mysterious stranger intent upon outbidding Ray decides that negotiations would go smoother with Malone out of the picture - permanently.
