1 head of locally grown Fennel. Fennel is crunchy and sweet with a light anise flavor. Also known as finocchio, it?s a bulb-shaped vegetable with fronds like dill that may be used as a culinary herb. Fennel may be served raw or cooked, and it?s a good source of vitamin C and potassium. We love to slice or shave it and add it to fresh garden salads. Save leftover cut fennel in a container filled with water in the refrigerator to keep it from drying out and losing its crunch.
