MULLEIN LEAF: Frontier Co-op cut & sifted dried mullein leaves are a fuzzy-leaved, herbaceous biennial in the Scrophulariaceae family. Mullein is a striking, easy to identify plant with large, densely furred leaves and a tall, stately flowering stalk. While it's native to Europe and Asia, mullein has become naturalized across North America and Asia. It can be found growing in a wide array of regions, from dry and rocky to wastelands and field edges.
VARIETY OF USES: Mullein’s velvety leaves are often used to make a soothing herbal tea that can be enjoyed at any hour of the day. Use our high quality loose leaf to make mullein tea, mullein tea bags for lungs, mullein leaf extract, mullein leaf capsules, mullein gummies, lung tea, or your own mullein leaf loose leaf packets for your cafe or store.
HERBACEOUS BIENNIAL: Mullein is usually biennial, meaning it seeds in the second year then dies. The leaves are best harvested in the first year or spring of the second year, before the flowering stalk shoots up in the summer.
