Trevor Smith thinks he's prepared. Although most of his focus is on getting his college degree, he's spent time and money buying what he needs should a disaster strike. Now that it actually has, it's time to see whether his preparations were enough.
His cousin Lewis Halsson has done much better, even building a shelter in the small town in Central Utah they grew up in, where he lives off the grid. While he mourns the suffering this fuel crisis will bring, he's content that he is set up to comfortably survive it. Although not satisfied with even that, he continues to try to figure out what else he needs to be ready for.
Their friend Matthew Larson has no idea what's coming. He'll have to depend on the help of friends and family to survive, and do whatever he can to contribute. Because while it seems like this fuel shortage is no big deal, especially compared to other recent tragedies, he's about to find out just how bad it can be.
