The order of Muriel has survived for centuries in the badlands between the city states of Palais, Glanges and Pissot. They carved a role for themselves in the politics of the region, and their worship of the hermaphroditic goddess gained popularity amongst the masses.

Now they face a threat to their very existence. The head of their order, and avatar of the goddess, died suddenly without leaving an explicit heir. With the order in a position of weakness, and with the turmoil around the badlands, there are some dark forces that will be all too happy to use the opportunity to destroy them.
