- The safety sensors alert you of any malfunction in installation or operation, as an additional safety measure, the red beam blinks a pattern and pauses and repeats the pattern to communicate to you if a malfunction occurs. Note: Before installing the Safety Reverse Sensor, make sure the garage door opener is NOT connected to a power source.
