The follow-up to their breakthrough album, Wait a Minute, finds the James Taylor Quartet in fine form. Their trademark Hammond organ is front and center from the get-go as they dash through a collection of grinding '70s-styled acid jazz. This is the sort of music you'd expect to accompany Michael Douglas as he chases some scummy hood across the docks in The Streets of San Francisco. It's kind of silly and it's kind of exciting, but when that organ kicks in you know the James Taylor Quartet is all business. --Percy Keegan
