For more then 25 years the Gambian top band Ifang Bondi (be yourself) and winner of a Kora Award, has had a leading role within the West African popular music scene. In the early seventies they were the first to return to their African roots and integrated traditional African instruments in a modern rock setting. Rewarded with **** (four stars) in Q-Magazine and voted at one of the 50 best albums of 1998: 'few can match their depth and versatility'.
