This album features the world premiere recording of Elliot Goldenthal's Othello Symphony. Performed by the AUKSO Orchestra under the direction of Marek Mos, the work was drawn from the composer's successful three-act ballet Othello that premiered at the San Francisco Ballet in 1998. Goldenthal had long-awaited the chance to craft Othello into a condensed work. This 34-minute synthesis takes the principal moments of the three-act music drama and reworks them into a symphonic context.
