John Wayne Glover—also known as the “Granny Killerâ€â€”was a serial killer who was active in Sydney, Australia, between 1989 and 1990 who murdered at least six—and as many as 13—elderly females after hitting them with a claw hammer and then ritually strangling them with their own pantyhose. It was widely believed that Glover’s victims represented his mother and mother-in-law who he blamed for his misdeeds. He was ultimately sentenced to six life sentences without any possibility of release. Glover committed suicide by hanging himself on 9 September 2005.
