Graphite can be used as pencil lead, pigment, polishing agent; it can also prevent boiler scaling, graphite can be used in metal chimneys, roofs, bridges and pipes to prevent corrosion and rust.
As refractory material: graphite and its products have the properties of high temperature resistance and high strength. It is mainly used to make graphite crucibles in the metallurgical industry. Graphite is often used as a protective agent for steel ingots in steelmaking and the lining of metallurgical furnaces.
As a conductive material: used in the electrical industry to manufacture electrodes, brushes, carbon rods, carbon tubes, positive electrodes for mercury positive current devices, graphite gaskets, telephone parts, and coatings for television picture tubes.
Graphite has good chemical stability. Specially processed graphite has the characteristics of good thermal conductivity, and low permeability. It is widely used in the manufacture of heat exchangers, condensers, combustion towers, absorption towers, coolers, heaters, filters, and pump equipment.
As a wear-resistant lubricant: graphite is commonly used as a lubricant in the machinery industry. Graphite materials are widely used in the manufacture of piston cups, seals and bearings. They do not need to be lubricated during operation.
