Code-named Kate by the Allies, the Nakajima B5N was the standard torpedo bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy for much of World War II. The aircraft operated throughout the war, achieving particular success at the battles of Pearl Harbor, Coral Sea, Midway, and Santa Cruz Islands. Primarily a carrier-based aircraft ? although it was also used as a land-based bomber on occasion ? the B5N carried a three-man crew including pilot, navigator/bombardier/observer, and radio operator/gunner. Approximately 1,150 were built, but not a single complete example survived the war. Highly detailed model kit includes waterslide decals and illustrated instructions. Decal options included: Aircraft Carrier Hiryu Flying Group Pearl Harbor 7 December 1941; Naval 12th Flying Group China 1940-1941; and Cmdr.
