Gospel music from the genres golden era of the late Forties and Fifties is not well represented on CD and Acrobat is committed to making as much of this fantastic music available again. There is no doubt the Spirit of Memphis were one of the leading and certainly most influential church-wrecking quartets of the late 1940s and 1950s. Their forte was a solid ""front line"" of shared-lead singers who blended a soothing, satisfying and sanctified approach. This release includes extensive sleeve notes by leading gospel expert Opal Nations.
