Born in Jiangsu province, China, Bertrand Mao has studied and practiced Chinese calligraphy and painting for over sixty years. His work consists of the traditional Chinese art forms of Shan-Shui painting, Chinese calligraphy, and the Four Gentlemen of Chinese brush painting - plum blossom, chrysanthemum, bamboo, and orchid. A master of Chinese art, Bertrand Mao shares in this book his knowledge of Chinese calligraphy and painting along with some of his recent artwork. English translations of the calligraphy are included.
