The brilliant career of multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter and humanitarian Harry Chapin is chronicled from the success of his debut album, that stayed on the charts for six months driven by the strength of the top twenty hit "Taxi". His 1973 album "Short Stories" yielded another international hit with "W.O.L.D." and his 1974 album "Balderdash" went gold on the strength of the #1 hit "Cats in the Cradle". Long before the world had heard of Band Aid, Chapin worked tirelessly to end world hunger. He was a cofounder of World Hunger Year (WHY) and posthumous recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal for combating hunger around the globe following his untimely and tragic death in a car accident in 1981.
