Jess has gone missing. All that is left is her chopped off pony tail and a trail of blood leading nowhere. The police want to question Esther. She loudly told anyone who would listen that she would kill Jess after she cut the tails off two of her horses but deep down Esther wouldn’t harm a fly. And even though Jess said that her groom was the one who did the actual chopping, we all knew that if she did, it was only because Jess had told her to.
Everyone assumes that Jess has run away, an elaborate ruse to fake her own kidnapping in an attempt get people off her back and to perhaps gain some of the attention that she thrives on but deep down Emily has a feeling that it is something else altogether.
But she has her own problems. With Valentine’s day fast approaching, there is a big show to go to and with Jordan trying to patch things up between Emily and himself after indirectly calling her fat, he wants to spoil her on this special day. The trouble is that so does someone else. And when Patrick and Jordan run into each other at the show, both will fight not only for Emily’s honor but also her love when all Emily really cares about is loving her horses and ponies and wonders if there is something wrong with her because she prefers four legged boys to the two-legged variety.
