The mouth(outside diameter) wide is about 1" in diameter.
It is a square hole, so maybe a square drill bit would work just fine.
This is so helpful when camping! Aim towards the embers
and crank the handle- instant fire! Works just as well in the home
fireplace. It does make a somewhat annoying whirling sound
when you crank BUT you get a fire without sticking your face close
too blow!
