Humorous Quotations and Jokes for Atheists Agnostics and Secular Humanists (Quote Books Book 3)
This is my third compilation of quotes. This version includes humorous quotes and jokes for atheists, agnostics, and human secularists. It is not meant to convert but entertain those who are not religious.
Understand that inclusion of an author in this volume does not mean that he/she is a non-believer. The only requirement is that the quote was memorable and something my intended audience (of non-believers) would find interesting.
Before you purchase this book note that I now have a compilation of all three quote books: The Big Book of Quotations for Atheists Agnostics and Secular Humanists (First published on June 26, 2013). In addition to containing all of the quotes in the first three books, it includes all the quotes organized alphabetically by author.
There are three sections to this book: The first one contains well over 250 quotations from a wide variety of authors. While many are well-known comedians like Bill Maher and George Carlin, many are from authors not known for their comedy. The second part includes some original material and jokes from my evil twin brother, I. B. Probulos. The last section is a collection of jokes I assembled. While many are not laugh-out-loud funny, they should provide a chuckle or two.
While writing my book, The 12 Unthinkable Horrors of Human Existence, I assembled a lot of great quotes for atheists, agnostics and secular humanists. There were so many good ones I created my first quote book in December 2012: Over 365 Quotations for Atheists Agnostics and Human Secularists and then a second book, 365 Additional Quotations for Atheists Agnostics and Human Secularists. Trust me, even with this book, I have discarded well over a thousand not-so-memorable quotes.
In creating my other two quote books I realized I had enough for a humorous quote book. I like funny and here is a collection of the very best quotes and jokes. Yes, many feel that we are a droll and depressed group considering we have no purpose, afterlife, celestial sky-daddy, prayer, eternal justice and the calm that comes from faith.
Now I really am depressed. Good thing for this book.
To create this list I spent hundreds of hours reading dozens of books, listening to debates, watching YouTube videos and searching the Internet. In addition, I have included original quotes not found anywhere else. Since the first two books I have created an internal quote database where I organize quotes by type, impact, author, subject and length.
In this third edition I have focused on anything that struck me as humorous or at the very least, ironic. I always focus on shorter quotes versus long ones, which are listed at the very end. My goal is to assemble all of my quotes into one larger quote book but I still want that ultimate list of the very best quotes sorted by rank and in multiple categories.
Information is readily available from a number of sources. My goal is save the reader time and effort weeding out the chaff from the wheat, the very memorable from the easily forgotten. While there will never be 100% agreement concerning the top quotes, the task of assembling the list should prove to be fun and informative.
Note that Kindle E-books can be updated anytime so occasionally delete the version on your Kindle and download the most current version. I am sure I will be updating all my quote books several times this year. It is convenient to have a quote collection on your Kindle device, personal computer, Android phone or iPad. A version number and date is in the very front. Amazon only sends out notices where there is a major change so currently updating your book is a manual process.
