Kenya Baker was born in Detroit, Mich. She spent most of her childhood in Dayton, Ohio. She always possessed a strong love for education. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Wilberforce University and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton. Her time in the classroom as a school teacher fuels her passion to write children's literature. She is a certified teacher and has taught school in the urban community for the past 10 years. She attributes all that is right in her life to God, the author and finisher of her faith.
