Classically trained in rural Essex, England, Imogen Heap emerged as the next great iconoclastic female performer, a lineage that includes Patti Smith, Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Bjâ€rk and Liz Phair. Her deft blends of electronic grooves and engaging melodies caught the ears of Almo Sounds (the new venture from A&M founders Herb Alpert & Jerry Moss), who released her debut album I Megaphone in 1998. Following a stint in the group Frou Frou the duo she formed with I Megaphone producer Guy Sigsworth she returned in 2005 with the release of her sophomore solo album, Speak For Yourself.
