Sammy Kaye was, of course, probably the most popular â€œsweetâ€ band leader of all time, and I Want to Wish You a Merry Christmas captures him conducting his orchestra in 1951, 1952, and 1957, as the album was composed of the 1951 8-song EP Christmas Serenade, two single sides from a year later, and the title track plus â€œThe Christmas Songâ€ recorded in 1957 especially for the release of this LP.
