The late Donna Summer was appropriately crowned 'The Queen of Disco' decades ago at the height of the boom that helped to truly make her an icon. And being recognized as such, she will be inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during its 2013 ceremonies. Worldwide adulation had resulted after a musical/theatrical role took her to Germany, which led her to record with producer Giorgio Moroder and his collaborator, Pete Bellotte, is a Hollywood story in its own right. The success of the rather provocative 'Love to Love You Baby' set people on their heels and began an amazing streak of pop and disco hits for that team. The hits kept coming from 'Hot Stuff' to 'Bad Girls' to the anthem 'She Works Hard for the Money'-and they're all included in this Icon collection.
