The CX series uses carbonized wood. German engineered rubber pneumatic pad, supplies powerful airflow. The art of carbonized wood has evolved to make wood function at its best and look beautiful, naturally. No toxic chemicals or lacquers used. Wood becomes carbonized when it is put into specially designed heating chambers that are heated up to 480 degrees fahrenheit. The high heat and humidity causes the sugar in the woods (hemicellulose) to caramelize and the cell walls of the wood changes its composition. This transformation of carbonization brings on new characteristics, i.e., more durable yet lightweight, antimicrobial (resistant against fungi and insects), hypoallergenic and a radical reduction in water absorption.
