Fitzwilliam Darcy discovers Lizzy Bennet on the road to Pemberley, where the carriage that she and her aunt and uncle, the Gardiners, were riding in has broken a wheel. Instantly attracted to her and she to him, within minutes of meeting Lizzy, Darcy vows that she will be his, one way or another. Their attraction grows as they begin a courtship on the beautiful grounds of his estate. Things go awry, however, when the Bingley party arrives. Caroline is less than pleased, and is not shy about letting everyone know. When Lizzy decides she should probably let him go, Darcy plots a compromise to keep her at his side.
