Bob is a senior agent in the Inspector General's office, with military background prior to that. He's a thoroughly tough and dangerous man. And that's probably why they assigned Kelani, the new agent, to him during her probationary period. But his career cost him opportunities at romance, and his new partner is young, and beautiful. He tries hard to retain professional detachment, perhaps succeeding too well, because they can't seem to bond like normal partners would.
Then comes a mission where they have to go undercover ... as husband and wife ... and play the part. She is from another culture, which makes for some miscommunication sometimes. But, right in the middle of their investigation, communication flourishes and they bond.
Boy, howdy do they bond.
And when the bad guy tries to kill her new partner Kelani takes offense and uses her martial arts training to "reduce the threat."
But you don't have to imagine what happened when they went under cover together. You can read all about it.
Warning: This is a romance novel intended for adult consumption. It deals with adult language and sexual situations, sometimes describing them in graphic detail. This book is not intended for those under the age of eighteen. Further, this book contains relationships that some might judge shocking. Providing more information than that would, however, destroy a twist in the plot that is very important. Just be aware that this is not a vanilla, mainstream romance.
