The Egyptian goddesses Isis and Hathor are often considered the same being. The worshipers of Isis borrowed, assimilated, and adapted Hathorâ€™s attributes to the extent it is often difficult to distinguish the two goddesses from one another. But while both embodied motherhood and family loyalty, the two deities are not the same. Hathor was more oriented toward femininity while the mythology of Isis is focused on transformation.
