"Hurts So Good" first appeared in 1973, on the back of Ms Jackson's Top 3 R&B/Top 30 Pop US success with its title track (her all-time biggest US hit, by the way). Its appearance also marked the first time that Millie recorded in the famous southern soul town of Muscle Shoals, Alabama - where her major subsequent successes "Caught Up" and "Still Caught Up" (both also available in this series) would be recorded in their entirety. This newly remastered version, from the original Spring album production master, adds a generous six bonus tracks, including a first-ever true stereo mix of Millie's non-album 45 "Breakaway", several very different mixes of some of the album's highlights and two 'one take' demos that Millie never recorded 'finished' versions.
