Lou Monte enjoyed a hit laden career with his unique brand of Italian/American themed novelty records, creating something of a template that the likes of Joe Dolce would later follow. Immensely popular in New Jersey, where he made his professional debut, Lou transferred that popularity to records, picking up a gold disc for Pepino The Italian Mouse (included on this package as a bonus track) and even scoring a belated British hit with Dominic The Donkey (also added to this collection). Italian Houseparty was originally released in 1959 and was a steady seller, appealing to both existing and new fans.
