Charging ipod/iphone via both the USB port (DC SV) at the same time is dangerous and forbidden.

How to use this av cable?
1.Connect the multi-function AV Cable to your iPod or iPhone.
2.Plug the yellow (video output port), white and red connectors (audio output port) of AV cable into the video -and audio input ports on your TV or receiver.
3.Turn on your iPod or iPhone and your TV or receiver to start playing. Set your iPod or iPhone to send a video signal out to your TV or receiver.
4.You can charge the iPod/ iPhone via the USB port (DC 5V) while using the AV Cable.
