The bamboo does have hollow cavities within the tubes, however there are natural segements with walls separating the cavities. All natural, these bamboo sticks are collected from a pesticide free area and dried before shipping, making them perfectly safe for use with your pets. Bamboo is a great addition to a variety of pet habitats, including many geckos, lizards, and other animals that like to climb. Bamboo will hold up for an extended period of time in a humid environment, but will eventually rot with time. This is exacerbated by soaking wet conditions. For maximum longevity, keep your bamboo in an environment with a humidity of 60% or less, and allow it to dry out occasionally.
