In my years of accompanying ballet classes, and my experience with recording ballet CDs I have gotten many requests and ideas for recordings. One that particularly stood out was made by a ballet teacher - a recording of music only for jumps. When I really thought about it, I realized the music I was playing for allegros was different in the audition classes with Hubbard Street and to the next day with a class for New York City Ballet; there are many types of petite allegros rhythms that I haven't used on a CD. Normally on a recording for ballet class, there are only 2 or 3 allegro tracks, and these don't accommodate students at various levels. I have put together a collection of music for jumping: introduction to allegro steps, petite allegro, grand allegro, and those hard to find medium tempo exercises for the beginners and intermediates. Here is an exhaustive effort to collect as many rhythms and tempi as I could put on one album. It is a supplement to your favorite class CDs.
