- Thanks to this adapter, you will be able to use a 2.5" IDE hard drive on a laptop with a SATA input. The adapter is placed on the back of the IDE disk, thus covering its power+data connector, and transforming it "physically" into a SATA drive with its classic 15+7 plug. The conversion takes place in less than 3 mm thickness, allowing the IDE to be inserted into the slot provided for a SATA drive!! !.
