This is a pewter pendant of the Hindu Deity, Kali. The pendant comes with a black necklace cord and a story card similar to the one shown in the alternate picture. The pendant is made fine pewter and is nickel free. It is one of our Vedic Collection of pewter pendants. The name Kali means Time, because time destroys all in the end. Kali is the Goddess of Destruction, the angry aspect of the mother Goddess, Uma. Kali has another name: Muldakesi, which means complete freedom. The word Kali also means black, the absolute black of the void. Another of Kali's many names id Digamber Ma, the Sky Clad Mother. Kali is naked except for her skirt of human arms, and her necklace of fifty human heads. Fifty is the number of letters in the Sanskrit alphabet, from whose sounds Brahma created the world.
