King marks a new beginning for O.A.R., while also paying homage to their past. It is the seventh studio effort in a career that began with the band's high school recording, The Wanderer. O.A.R.'s last studio release, 2008 s All Sides, was their most successful record to date debuting at #13 on the Billboard Top 200 and featuring the Certified Platinum single "Shattered".

"When I first started writing songs I was young and hadn't experienced many things, so I chose to write from the perspective of someone else, the Wanderer," notes Marc Roberge. "Now, after having traveled the world, gotten married and had a child of my own, I felt like it was time to bring the Wanderer back and finish the stories I started over ten years ago."

With King the band blends their more traditional reggae tinged roots with new musical elements they picked up over their fifteen years performing together. The new tracks contain moments of uplift ("Gotta Be Wrong Sometimes), shimmering guitars ("The Last Time"), world beat ("Gotta Live"), populist fervor ("Fire," "Dangerous Connection"), narrative prowess ("Almost Easy") and even hip-hop ("We Made It - Interlude 1", "King")
Heaven", the record's first single, marries O.A.R.'s island-vibe with a driving beat. "I don't want to go to heaven if I can't get in," sums up the entire album's theme. Be the best version of yourself you can be, and make no apologies for it.

The Deluxe package contains 4 Bonus Tracks and a Bonus DVD, featuring two acoustic performances, as well as track by track interviews with the band and an introduction to the album King.
