Those with the power to do something were told but they didn’t listen. “The climate is changing†they were told. “We’re killing the Earth. If we don’t do something now, there might not be a future for mankind on Earth!†Years passed and still they didn’t listen. The people would never vote for anyone who promised to raise taxes so the planet could be saved. Only when it was too late did they do too little. Instead of trying to save the planet, they built ships to save a tiny fraction of mankind. How do you choose who to save and who to leave behind to die? The answer is with great difficulty. They did it just the same. Most of the ships left. Some never made it off the ground, as the mob reached them on the launch pads. Some left with a full compliment, while others were only partially full. Those left behind knew they were doomed. It wasn’t going to be quick, but it was going to happen. After generations in space, two ships actually discovered new homes. The Golden Hind from Britain settled on ‘Dioladh’ – Scottish Gaelic for ‘Reward’. For Endeavor from the United States, their journey nearly ended in tragedy when a terrorist almost blew the ship out of existence when it was well past the half way mark. However, thanks to the courage and sacrifice of their security officer, the ship and passengers were saved. For Dan Cornish, he found himself in a life-pod with little or no hope of ever being saved. Those on the Endeavor went on to found a colony on New Cornwall. Mankind was saved. Several thousand years pass. Miraculously the life-pod is discovered by pure chance, but will Dan still be alive? There’s a question! But what of the Earth? I hear you say. With no knowledge of each other, two expeditions are sent to answer the question. This is their story.
