- Preparation and Storage: Keep casings on the plastic straw while you clean and soak them. Gently rinse and flush casings in cold water to remove brine and salt, then soak in cold water for 2-8 hours until soft and pliable. Then refrigerate.

The casings will need to be soaked for at least 30 minutes and flushed. To use after cleaning: simply put the tube/straw over the stuffing tube and hold the casing back and pull out the straw.
