- Little Farmer Oyster Sure Shell is an excellent source of calcium for your laying hens. Chickens need calcium in order to produce higher quality eggs with greater shell integrity. Thin-shelled eggs will crack too easily, so a stronger shell is critical for practical use.
- In addition, hens require a steady store of calcium in their bodies to produce eggs or they will start leaching calcium from their own bones in order to do so. This leads to brittle bones that can break. Not good. Your laying hens need Little Farmer Oyster Sure Shell!
- If your laying hens are already getting a calcium-enriched feed, it is unlikely that it contains enough calcium to meet your hens' needs. Oyster shells are an easily digestible, soluble calcium supplement. It is only necessary to give oyster shells to laying hens.
