I made these beautiful extra large hammered silver disc earrings out of sterling silver round disks that were locally sourced in the Southwestern US. I hammered them, shaped them, tumble polished them for durability and a lovely shine and put them on earwires. I carefully measured these sturdy disks, and they are about 1-1/2" in diameter, and the earrings are approximately 2-1/8" (5.3 cm) long.

The discs have been suspended from jump rings so that they swing freely and don't poke into the side of your neck. All the metal in these is sterling silver, including the earwires.

The last picture shows all my sterling silver hammered disc earring sizes, from left to right: extra large, large, medium and small, with a quarter for reference.
