Latin-English Booklet Missal For Praying The Traditional Mass
This is the booklet containing the Ordinary or non changeable parts of the Traditional Latin Mass used by the Roman Catholic Church. It does not contain the changeable parts - the readings and prayers that are used for specific days of the year. In his Apostolic Letter Summorum Pontificum (17 July 2007) Pope Benedict clarified that there are two forms of expression of the Roman Rite Mass: the Ordinary Form which uses the liturgy first introduced in 1969/1970 and the Extraordinary Form. The Missal of 1962 is the only version authorized for use by the priest in the celebration of the Extraordinary Form. The 1962 version is the Missal codified by Pope St. Pius V in 1570 and reissued periodically afterwards with corrections and changes as deemed necessary by subsequent popes. This booklet contains the version of the St. Pius V missal last reissued by Pope St. John XXIII in 1962 prior to Vatican II.
