Although he was later to enjoy considerable success on the Adult Contemporary chart, usually with middle of the road material, Chris Montez first entered the public mind with Lets dance, one of the smash hit singles of 1962. Originally released on the Monogram label, it would hit #4 in the US and #2 in the UK first time around. Whilst his MOR material is very much in the take it or leave it camp, Lets Dance has become a perennial favourites, appearing in numerous films, including Animal House, and has twice returned to the UK charts, making the Top Ten in 1972 and the Top 50 in 1979.
