Shout! Factory continues its campaign of archival ELP live releases with Live in Montreal, 1977, the first-ever official release of this legendary concert which captured the band during the legendary Works tour, just they before the jettisoned the orchestra due to financial reasons, after only a handful of performances, making this document all the more valuable. Says Keith Emerson, "the concert for me remains one of the highlights of my musical life."
With Keith Emerson on keyboards, Greg Lake on bass and vocals and Carl Palmer on drums, ELP broadened the audience for progressive rock. The band released a series of landmark albums in the 1970s, and several more in the '90s after a 14-year hiatus.
