Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970
Deluxe three disc set includes two CDs plus PAL/Region 0 DVD with DTS 5.1 Surround Sound. At 2am on August 30th 1970, one of the great British Rock bands gave one of the most memorable concerts of their career to an audience of 600,000, the set combining some their greatest hits up to that point with a blistering run through the epochal Tommy and some new songs earmarked for their next album. Academy Award winning director Murray Lerner was there to capture the event for posterity and more recently Pete Townshend personally supervised the remixing of the sound. As Townshend has since opined, The Who were at the very top of their game as a live act at this stage of their career and it is immediately apparent when listening to or viewing this performance. This is the undiluted, absolute power of The Who at their live peak. Restored to its highest visual quality and with the sound remixed from the original 8 track tapes. Deluxe digipak presentation with 12-page illustrated booklet annotated by respected rock author Patrick Humphries.
