Live in Paris & New York
Big Beat presents the third in its series of Willy DeVille releases with the reissue of this 1993 live album. With Hey! Joe high in European charts and the Backstreets Of Desire album having shifted over 300,000 copies, Willy DeVille found himself, after almost a quarter century of struggle, a genuine star across the continent. As he was now playing to new audiences who were largely unaware of his Mink DeVille recordings, FNAC decided to service the new fans with a live 'Hits' album while giving Willy time to continue writing new material. Willy and band played New York's 400 capacity Bottom Line on 16-17 June. The band flew to Paris to play the much bigger, 2200 capacity Olympia on the 22-23 June 1993. The regular band is supplemented by a horn section and the mariachi band that plays on Hey! Joe. The package contains notes from Garth Cartwright with interviews with the producer, members of Willy's band and features many previously unseen photos.
