Digitally re-mastered and expanded edition of this 1987 album from the Pointer Sisters member. After the explosive success the Pointer Sisters enjoyed in the mid-eighties, Anita decided to take a short break from the group and work on her first solo album. LOVE FOR WHAT IT IS was produced by R&B hit-maker Preston Glass and features two R&B hit singles in the form of the Michael and Brenda Sutton penned 'Overnight Success' as well as 'More Than a Memory'. The former featured a 12' Dance Mix by Francois K and the latter included one by Timmy Regisford. Those remixes make their CD debut here on the album's first expanded re-master. Other highlights include 'Love Me Like You Do', which made an impact with UK soul fans, the Brenda Russell co-penned 'Beware of What You Want' and 'The Pledge', a duet with Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire. Liner notes include a brand new interview with Anita Pointer. LOVE FOR WHAT IT IS is a must for all Eighties Soul, Dance and Pop fans out there!
