SÂ©rgio Mendes new album, Magic, was recorded in Los Angeles and Salvador, Bahia with a host of friends and special guests. The album kicks off with the powerful anthem, One Nation, featuring fellow Brazilian Carlinhos Brown, and is a tribute to soccer fans worldwide that was included on the official FIFA World Cup 2014 album. John Legend and will.i.am, old friends of SÂ©rgio, were again at hand to collaborate with Mendes. The modern, pop oriented My My My My Love is SÂ©rgio and Will at their best with an infectious groove. Don t Say Goodbye features John Legend s beautiful lyrics and vocal that will delight fans of both artists. The album also includes a collaboration with Janelle Monae, the haunting Open Your Eyes. The Brazilian guest artists range from legendary to newcomer. Milton Nascimento performs his own composition, Olha A Rua and singer Gracinha Leporace, who is SÂ©rgio s wife, performs on two tracks. The new generation is represented by Maria Gadu, singing her own lyrics on Meu Rio, and Ana Carolina with a touching interpretation of Guinga s Atlantica. Connecting all these songs is the voice of SÂ©rgio Mendes piano, and his arrangements are something that is totally SÂ©rgio always full of life and delivered with a smile.

Producer, composer, keyboardist and vocalist SÂ©rgio Mendes influence on the music industry has spanned five decades and continues to evolve through new collaborations. One of the most successful Brazilian artists of all time, Mendes has recorded more than 35 albums, many of which are gold and platinum, and has won three Grammy Awards. In 2012 his iconic album, Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame along with Bruce Springsteen s Born in the U.S. A. and The Rolling Stones Exile on Main St. as part of the historically significant recordings category.
