Make a Good Living Selling Photographs of Dead People on eBay
EDITORIAL
Imagine this: you’re at a flea market or antiques fair where you pay a couple of dollars, or pounds, or any other country currency, for two or three photographs of people who died many years ago. Then you list those images on eBay where they sell for double figure, sometimes three figure sums.
Occasionally they’llsell for thousands of dollars or other country currency (because this product sourcing and selling idea works no matter where in the world you live and work as long as you have access to eBay).
So you might wonder why an image of an elderly lady who had her photograph taken in Hobart, Australia in 1884 would make me £102 on eBay UK? And why should another image, this time from 1931 sell for more than four thousand dollars on eBay.com? Or another photograph taken in 1864 make $1,000?
These are not isolated instances of vintage photographs fetching incredibly high prices on eBay as you will read about in my eBook.
Want more examples? How about these:
* Edward J. Kelty 1931 Circus Congress of Freaks Photo sold for $4177.99
* Cabinet photograph of Robert E Lee and Son fetched $1175.00
* Albumen Photo of General Sterling Price 1864 fetched $1000.00
* Buffalo Bill Cody Original Photo 1887 fetched $910.00
* Signed photo Louis Pasteur fetched $2800.
Why should those photographs attract such high prices, and how and where can you pick up similar items at pocket money prices in expectation of really high returns on eBay?
Those are questions I will answer for you today, based on my personal experience of having sold very early collectibles, including photographs, for more than forty years.
All that experience allows me to prove:
FACT #1
I know, without a doubt, I could go out today, to a flea market or car boot sale, antiques fair or auction saleroom, where I would pick up a handful of specific small collectibles for less than the cost of a cup of coffee and in seven days I can turn that investment into hundreds or even thousands of pounds/dollars or other country currency on eBay.
Just a few minutes from now you’ll know how to do the same.
FACT #2
More interesting still, the vast majority of people selling these collectibles locally have little knowledge of what makes one item valuable and another worth little or nothing. And that is why you’ll rarely, if ever, have to pay more than a few pounds each for these very popular collectibles.
The collectibles we are mainly talking about are Victorian CDVs and cabinet portraits.
FACT #3
Ninety-nine times out of one hundred all you have to do is pick and choose and apply just a little knowledge to turn your penny finds into record price breaking items on eBay.
