One of the biggest rock radio hits of the late 1970's in Canada was 'Mama Let Him Play' by Vancouver rocker Doucette. The single also charted high at radio stations in the Midwest USA, cracking the Billboard Hot 100, the 1978 album of the same name sold Platinum in Canada, cracking the Billboard Top 200 in the USA.
The following year Doucette released 'The Douce is Loose' which earned gold status (50,000 units sold) in Canada, and spawned the rock radio hit single 'Nobody'.
Both albums were originally issued on the legendary Canadian indie Mushroom Records label, famous for breaking the first Heart album Dreamboat Annie as well as albums from Chilliwack, Iain Matthews and Paul Horn.
Previously only released on vinyl and out of print for decades, 'Mama Let Him Play' has been remastered in 24 bit audio from the original master analog tapes, with previously unreleased bonus tracks,new liner notes and photographs from the era. Doucette continues to perform live at festivals and casinos across North America.
