Our wild harvested Mamey Sapote oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the tropical Sapote tree. The oil is light and non-greasy and has a pleasant sweet/fruity aroma, which some people describe as being similar to almonds. It is high in Vitamins A, B, C and E as well as proteins, amino acids, fatty acids and minerals. These properties make it an excellent natural moisturizer that has many uses in natural beauty products, soap making and hair care.

Mamey Sapote oil can be used as a natural hair detangler as well as a conditioner or serum for the hair to make it softer and easier to manage, and also moisturize the scalp. It can be added to soaps and skin products to increase the moisturizing effect and will leave skin looking soft and even more toned.

Mamey Sapote is a tropical fruit that is native to Mexico and Central America, but is now cultivated in various parts of Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia and Indonesia. The Sapote tree is in the same family as Argan and it produces an edible fruit with large seeds. In some countries, Sapote oil is used as a cooking oil.

Our Mamey Sapote oil will come to you in a specialty amber glass bottle that helps block harmful UV rays, while allowing certain beneficial rays of sunlight to pass through. This protective glass helps protect the oil from damage by sunlight and helps increase the shelf life of the oil inside.

Directions

For skin: Apply just a few drops to face and problem skin areas before retiring at night. Can also be added to or mixed with other skin care oils. For hair: Apply a few drops at targeted hair area, run hands through hair to coat area, wait 20 minutes, wash out with warm water.
