Mandarin for Kids Set 2 is a confidence-building set of first Chinese readers that make learning Chinese achievable for kids ages 3-8. Developed with teachers, Set 2 combines picture cues, context, simple sentences, humor and repetition in just one line of text per page using the Spot Color Immersion MethodÂ®. Children can soon finish the beginner Mandarin books by themselves, an early success that motivates them and bolsters their confidence. The online audio narration allows kids to learn the proper pronunciation by a native Mandarin speaker. Set 2 features:
- 10 little Chinese books for kids, each 16 pages with 10 theme vocabulary words
- One line of text per page in pinyin with parallel Simplified Chinese characters
- English translation at the back
- Bilingual English-Chinese vocabulary charts on the inside cover
- Online audio narration by a native speaker (adults don't need to help with pronunciation). Audio is accessed online using the web address/URL in the books (stream or download).
Set 2 has 10 new themes: Food, Verbs, Tableware, Art supplies, Feelings, Nature, Jobs, Furniture, Bedtime and a Surprise delivery. Unlike most bilingual children's books in Chinese and English, the translation is at the back so kids stay in pinyin and Simplified Chinese but get help if needed.
